The magazine I have used as a base, is 'Hammer', which has controversial picture, an edgy and graphic masthead, dark house style, dark background, lots of info about gigs, violent pictures, religious puns, one/two people from the band on the cover at anyone time, high contrast/ monotone colour scheme and a gosh load of props. All these things put together make a perfect metal magazine, so I have tried to incorporate that in some of my rough ideas.
< This one would have low key lighting, dark main figure, but bright lights to show that it was taken in a concert/gig, the person would have a a guitar, dressed in black, with a very dark background.
>That picture is of a single person, and the light would be shining from above the person, so the features would seem distorted. There would be high contrast as the background would be so dark and the the light sections would be so light.
<This idea really plays on the idea of playing with religion, so there would be lots of props and photoshop effects, along with high contrast and dark background.
>This photo would have no/little background, and would have very little text, to draw attention to the main person. Yet again, there would be many ironic religious symbols etc.
